On Monday 16th December, Nottingham Academy hosted a dynamic and innovative CPD session for staff titled "Bring & Brag." This exciting event was designed to celebrate and share the best teaching and learning strategies being used across the academy, ensuring our students continue to benefit from outstanding classroom experiences.

The concept behind "Bring & Brag" was simple yet impactful. Every teacher and learning mentor was invited to bring along a resource or strategy linked to our 7 Guiding Principles that had worked exceptionally well in their lessons. These principles underpin the high standards of teaching and learning at Nottingham Academy, focusing on creating engaging, inclusive, and effective educational experiences for all our exceptional learners.

 

Staff gathered in the dining room at 3.25pm, armed with their most successful ideas and resources. The atmosphere buzzed with enthusiasm as colleagues presented their strategies, ranging from innovative classroom management techniques to creative lesson planning tools. Each participant had a scorecard, and the event became a friendly competition as staff voted for their top three favourite strategies. Prizes were awarded to the standout ideas, adding an extra layer of excitement and recognition to the event.

 

The "Bring & Brag" session also highlighted the collaborative spirit at Nottingham Academy. Learning Mentors shared invaluable tips and strategies for supporting students, contributing to the collective aim of ensuring every learner reaches their potential.

Reflecting on the event, the Deputy Principal, Ms Storr, praised the staff for their dedication and creativity.
