Exciting New Digital Design Competition Launches at Nottingham Academy!

A brand-new competition giving students the chance to showcase their digital design skills and win exciting prizes!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of Young Ideas: Digital Creatives Award, an exciting new half-termly competition in the Computing Department that invites students to showcase their digital design skills. Whether you’re a budding graphic designer or just want to experiment with creative software, this competition is the perfect opportunity to put your skills to the test!

Each half term, students will be given a unique design challenge, encouraging them to explore their creativity using Adobe Photoshop, Photopea, or even PowerPoint. The winning entry will be selected based on creativity, technical skill, and adherence to the theme. One winner per half term will be awarded an end-of-year trip or, for Year 11 students, a paid prom ticket!

The first theme for this competition is ‘Digital Wildlife’ – a chance for students to create a stunning digital design inspired by animals or nature. Whether it’s a photorealistic composition, a stylised vector design, or an imaginative digital artwork, we’re excited to see what our talented students produce!

How to Enter:

  • Create your digital artwork following the theme.

  • Use Adobe Photoshop, Photopea, or PowerPoint to design your piece.

  • Submit your editable file via email to youngideas@nottinghamacademy.org  by the deadline: Friday 14th February 2025.

This competition is open to all year groups, so whether you’re in Year 7 or Year 13, we encourage you to take part!

We can’t wait to see your incredible designs – get creative and show us your Young Ideas!
